New Mizoram Civil Service officers from Saiha district felicitated PDF Print E-mail

Mara Students’ Organisation (MSO), General Headquarters, Saiha organised a special programme of felicitating the three new Mizoram Civil Service (MCS) officers from the district at I&PR Hall, Saiha town, some 378 km south of Aizawl, Mizoram state capital on Tuesday, January 11, 2011. The successful MCS candidates are 2nd rank Mr. M. Misael of New Saiha (Siata), the 4th rank Mr. Abraham Beirazi Khithie, Saiha Vengpui (Chakhei/Chakhang) and the 5th rank Mr. MH. MSO Gen. Hqrs President Pu FC Khihnia presided the programme, Evangelical Church of Maraland (ECM) retired pastor Rev. Dr. T. Laikai led the devotion. The occasion was also attended by Saiha District Deputy Commissioner Pu Kunal, IAS and Pu Thangchem Zathang, MCS, the Addl. DC of Saiha a part from leaders of NGOs and mediapersons in the district. MSO General Headquarters as well as some schools felicitated them with an appreciation certificate. Misael, who was serving as a Mizoram Police Service (MPS) officer did his graduation and post-graduation from Mizoram University. Abraham did his graduation from St. Joseph’s College in Bangalore, James did his graduation from St. Anthony’s, Shillong and was doing his PG from JNU, New Delhi when he was selected for this service.

Misael and James are first cousins, they are originally from Siata while Abraham Beirazi Khithie is from Chakhei. Chakhei and Siata are about 10 km apart, an Indo-Myanmar border villages near Kolodyne river in the eastern part of Saiha district. Due to the work of their parents they are now all settled at Saiha town. It is the first time for Siata to have an MCS officers, that too two at a time, but for Chakhei it is the third time. Pu K. Riachho, IAS (also MCS) and his son Pu K. Laltlawmlova, MCS are also from this place.

These three are truly an inspiration for students from the district. Abraham, who had cleared UPSC Prelims a few times is once again waiting for his UPSC Main’s result. We wish him all the best.
