Governor Holds Meeting With Air Marshall K.K.Nohwar, AOC-In-Chief, Eastern Air Command PDF Print E-mail

Mizoram Governor Lt Gen (Rtd)M.M.Lakhera, PVSM, AVSM,VSM today had a meeting with Air Marshall K.K.Nohwar,VM, AOC-in Chief, Eastern Air Command, Indian Air Force who is on a one day visit to the state.Mr.R.L Rinawma, IRS, Commissioner, Land, Revenue and Settlement was also present in the meeting. In the meeting, requirement of land at Lunglei and Lengpui by the Indian Air Force was discussed.

For setting up of Air Defence Radar Station at Zopuitlang in Lunglei District, 300 acres of land has been identified jointly by the Air Force and and the civil administration. Besides transfer of land lease, the Air Force requires  power and water supply. It was also discussed that land has to be jointly identified by the Indian air Force and the civil admistration for long term use at Lengpui for Air Force aircrafts. Air Marshall K.K.Nohwar also stated that they will only be too happy to assist Mizoram Government in organising an international festival. He also  said that State of Art fully equipped archery range of International standard is being set up by his Command Headquarter at Shillong, once established he hope that this will provide facility to the talented youths of North East India.
